Creating Classifications

This article details how to create Headings, Tags and Lists.

System Role: Enterprise Administrator

Classifications are used to organise data in Consultation Manager. There are three distinct types of Classifications:

  1. Classification Tags - Tags are the level which is directly linked to your data (records). Tags can sit under a Heading, but this is not essential, and Tags do not have children.
  2. Classification Headings - Headings are used to group or structure your Tags. It is the title you would use to organise your Tags into manageable and meaningful groups. They may have multiple hierarchical tiers, but cannot be connected directly to data.
  3. Classification Lists - Lists is simply the name for the overarching lists that are tied to fields within Consultation Manager. Once configured, the name of a List can change, but it cannot be detached from the specified field and replaced with a new List.

NOTE: We previously used the following terminology, so you may hear us refer to Headings and Tags this way, and you can too - we'll know what you mean!

Heading: "Parent Classification"

Tag: "Child Classification"

List: "Classification Root List"
